Hey Pandas,
Shhhh, Max! We have to whisper so that Prof. Bookworm won’t hear us. I get the feeling he isn’t happy about what we’ve been up to.
I think you may be right. To explain a bit, we got up really early this morning and went straight to Bookworm’s rejuvenation machine. It’s been three days since we put the map in, so it has to be done by now. Professor Bookworm was already up and about, scurrying around all over the place. When he saw us he got really excited and began to tell us a story.
He said that the map is of a long-forgotten place in Panfu. One day, a Panda went to this place in search of a magic ice diamond, never to return. He wouldn’t tell us more – just that we should destroy the map immediately! So we did…
…but we made a picture of it before we destroyed it! Hey, that’s not against the rules, is it? Ella and I went off right away to find where on Panfu the X was located. But there wasn’t anything there!

Yeah, it was a bit disappointing. We thought there’d be something really spectacular waiting for us. Then I thought of something: this map came from a journal in the library. The Panda who went off in search of the treasure and disappeared just has to be the owner of this journal!
Quick, Ella! Let’s race to the library!
Okay, I’m coming. Don’t do anything without me!
Be good Pandas,
Ella and Max

Hey Pandas,
So, have you found the map yet? Some of the Pandas already mentioned in the comments sections where it is, but be sure to go talk to Carl in the library first! We rolled ours out the minute we got it, but weren’t able to read a thing. It’s so torn and old!

But I’ve got to give it to him – Carl Caruso had a great idea: to put it into Professor Bookworm’s rejuvenation machine! Do you know the one I’m talking about? It’s in the cave and Gold Pandas can use it to make themselves into baby Pandas. I’m sure it will work to restore the maps to their original states.
We payed Prof. Bookworm a little visit yesterday and he was in rather high spirits. Good thing for us that he was in such a good mood! Sometimes he can be a little…difficult.
He told us to come back in two days. That’ll take forever. Oh well, hopefully it’ll work!

Max and Ella

Hello Pandas,
I was right about Carl! He was spotted numerous times last week in the Panfu library and I found out why: he found a mysterious treasure map! But that Indiana Jones wannabe lost it.
Don’t be so hasty, Max. Tell them exactly what happened yesterday evening.
Ok, sorry. But it’s so exciting! I made some dinner for Ella and myself yesterday. We had just sat down to eat when suddenly someone started knocking wildly at my door. I opened it up, and Carl Caruso was standing there prattling to himself about something or another.
We could hardly understand him and he was out of breath to boot. The only words I could make out were “treasure map” and “mummy in the jungle”. I think he lost the treasure map in the jungle, but a mummy? He’s a bit mad.
A mummy in Panfu? No one will believe that! He’s been hiding in his tree house ever since. Ha ha, the scaredy cat. But now we know at least that he was keeping something secret from us. Ella and I want to help him find the map. What could be more exciting?
We’ll see, Max. Maybe there is no treasure map at all. Whatever the case may be, we’ll tell you Pandas if we could use your help!
Be good Pandas,
Ella and Max

Hey Pandas,
Have you collected lots of Pompoms. Ella and I found eight each. We’re about to bring them to Carl so we can get one of his prizes. I got my jacket all dirty looking for the furry little creatures. It’s about time they go back to Carl’s home!
I agree. I’m excited to see what kind of prize Carl has in store for us. He mentioned that he’d even bring a few Pompoms to the big party. I don’t know how he’ll get them to relax a bit. They’re so shy. Maybe he has some sort of trick up his sleeve…
I’ve saved up a little money to buy Carl a couple of sodas. I want to get to the bottom of why he was being so sneaky in the library. Carl’s not exactly a bookworm…
Max, sometimes I think you see things that aren’t even there.
Like ghosts?! There’s an idea! Maybe there’s a ghost haunting the library and Carl wants to be the one to catch it and take all the credit. But I can do anything better than he!
Whatever, Max. I need to go get myself ready for the party.
Be good Pandas,

Hey there Pandas,
Have any of you seen Carl lately? I think he’s up to something…in fact, I know it.
What are you talking about? Don’t you think he has his hands full looking for his beloved Pompoms?
Something funny is going on with him. I got up really early this morning to go see Kamaria in the castle. I’ve had the sniffles for the past couple days and haven’t been able to sleep so well. I wanted to take a steam bath to clear my sinuses up, but I was all out of oil. Kamaria always has a good stock of this kind of stuff, so I payed her a little visit.
While I was passing the pet shop on the way, I noticed a Panda race right in front of me into the ice cream parlor. I saw that it was Carl, so I followed him right into the library.
I can’t believe Carl was up so early. He’s the type that likes to sleep in.
That’s what I was thinking! Anyway, he went to the bookshelf and took something out of one of the books. I wanted to know what he was up to, so I creeped up behind him and then tapped him on the shoulder. Boy, did that give him a scare! It was great. Then Carl started stuttering and said he was looking for a cook book and then suddenly ran out again. At six in the morning?! I don’t believe a word he says. He’s up to something, wouldn’t you say, Ella?
You’re right, it does sound very suspicious. But I’ll give him the benefit of a doubt. Maybe he’s cooking up something tasty for the Pompom party on Sunday in the disco. You Pandas won’t want to miss it. We stopped by yesterday for a glass of soda and Max tried out a few dance moves.

Now we’re off to collect more Pompoms. I want that prize!

Max and Ella

Hiya Pandas,
You know what today is? The first day of Mardi Gras! At least at Panfu Headquarters here in Berlin and everywhere in Germany.
Yeah, this is the day where everyone can dress up in whichever outfit you want and go a bit crazy. Mardi Gras is celebrated at different times all over the world. Brazil is supposed to be the home of the biggest and most extravagant Mardi Gras festival. They dress up in all the colors of the rainbow and throw a huge party.
You think the Pompoms are going to go wild for Mardi Gras? How am I supposed to find them if they dress up? Those dirty little critters…how many have you Pandas found so far? Max has found three and I’ve already got four of them. Go have a look at the harbor. I definitely saw one there today.
I think I am going to dress up like a clown and visit Kamaria. You think she’ll recognize me?
We’ll both dress up as clown and then she won’t be able to tell who is who!
Great idea!

Max and Ella

Good morning!
Wait, is that a Pompom…no. Shucks, I thought I’d seen one. What is this? Oh, just Max’ dirty slippers.
Sorry, Ella. Nothing here.
You wouldn’t believe it – the Pompoms are gone! Yes, again. And this time it didn’t have to do with tempting/repelling smells.
I went to go visit Carl Caruso yesterday at his tree house to help him give the Pompoms a gentle scrubbing down. I don’t know how they got so dirty in the first place. Anyway, we filled the bathtub with warm water, some soap and even a couple of toys. We went to get the Pompoms, and as we picked them up we noticed that they were shaking badly. As we neared the bathtub, they started scratching and squirming wildly. We couldn’t hold onto them anymore!
I guess that’s the last time you tell me that Carl is the strongest Panda in all of Panfu…
Very funny, Max. They then started running around all over the place like a vilde chayea! They were completely terrified of the water! We tried our best to catch them, but the Pompoms were absolutely crazed. One of them crashed itself through the bathroom window just to escape. The others soon followed and before we knew it, we had an absolute mess on our hands when our only intention was to make things a bit tidier and cleaner.

Now it all starts again. I guess we’ll need everyone’s help on this one! Starting tomorrow afternoon you can help Carl look for his Pompoms. I’m sure he has another prize for you in store if you help him.
Be good Pandas,
Max and Ella
