Dear Pandas,
‘The story of the Woobys is a long, sad one, but now you too can finally come to their aid. Professor Bookworm explained to us yesterday at length the history of the small, cute little animals. Here are the answers to some of our more exciting questions:
Professor, where do the Woobys come from?
Ella, you will not believe me when I say it, but the Woobys come from Panfu. That’s right, the little island where we all reside. Since there was a Panfu, there’s been Woobys.
So why is it that no one’s ever seen one?
Well, Ella, that’s not completely true. I have seen them, you know. The Woobys live in a remote part of Panfu. The most live near the mysterious lake. One time I was on an excursion through Panfu and when I arrived at the glittering lake, I realized I was surrounded by Woobys. It was simply extraordinary!
But why are they so sad?
Well, my dear Ella, it’s a sad story indeed. Wooby is the name of the native inhabitants of Panfu and literally means “animals without parents”. The Woobys have no parents and have to fend for themselves their whole lives and grow up in hardship. Of course, they have friends, but that’s not the same thing. These poor little creatures are missing the warmth and compassion that only a parent can give. Why these miserable animals have no parents is to this point unknown.
My goodness, that’s sad! Would it be possible for us to adopt Woobys? So they could finally have parents?
Yes, that is a fantastic idea. I’ve already pondered this question and have come to the conclusion that the Woobys would be much happier in this type of arrangement. They are, however, shy. We’ll give them a little time to adjust.
So, you’re saying that the Woobys live near a hidden lake? Are you talking about the one that’s on the map of Panfu?
That’s exactly the one I mean. It is located in the very middle of Panfu, but I don’t believe that very many Pandas have seen it. Actually, I believe I was the first!
What do you mean no Panda was ever at the lake except for you? How can that be?
There is a very tall hedge circling the entire lake, with only one teeny-tiny entrance. It is so well hidden that no Panda has discovered it, except for me, of course.
Could you tell us where it is?
I think we would terrify the poor Woobys to surprise them in such a way. Better that we wait a bit. I have, however, located two Wooby species that will come to Panfu on Thursday. I am speaking of the orange and the spotted Wooby. These are the most outgoing of the Woobys. Then they can slowly begin to get used to the Pandas. After that experiment is completed, I will maybe tell you about the secret entrance.
Professor, are there enough Woobys for all Pandas?
I’m afraid not at the moment. There are only a few who are ready to venture into this new world. The others are still simply too shy. Because of that, only a few Gold Pandas will be able to have one. All Gold Pandas should take a peek in their tree houses. All other Pandas should sit back and have a bit of patience. Soon there will be more Woobys up for adoption.
That’s so exciting! Starting today, Thursday, the poor little cute parentless Woobys will be in Panfu! Be nice to the little ones!
