The search for the blue parrot – Part 3

Saturday, June 20th, 2009

Dear Pandas,

Have you figured out yet whose raspy voice came from the eerie forest?

It was Pandabeard’s parrot! I’m sure you had already guessed that.

He was still alive! But maybe not for long seeing that his wings were stuck in a gigantic spider’s web. Have you Pandas seen that spider yet? He is huge and creeps around in the forest.  I’m used to vacuuming up bugs at home, but for this guy you’d need a bulldozer to pick him up! Next thing I knew, the spider was inching his way closer and closer to the parrot.

I screamed in a panic: “Max, do something! We don’t have much time!”

But I had everything under control. Well, okay, maybe I had my hands full with the situation. But I had an idea; I seemed to remember hearing at sometime that these giant spiders tend to be rather ticklish. I pulled out the parrot feather that I had found earlier and started tickling the spider’s feet. It wasn’t easy, seeing as there were six of them!

While Max distracted the giant spider, I freed the bird from the web.

Then we ran like the wind out of that forest, racing towards the pirate bar!

Pandabeard was very happy to have his parrot back. As thanks, he bought us a round of orange soda. We told him the story of the giant spider and he let out a loud belly laugh. We thought it was more scary than funny. What do you think?

It wasn’t that scary. You were with big, strong Max. Do you think I would ever put you in danger?

Oh, now you’re a hero or something? Okay, I admit, it was pretty brave of you.

Be good Pandas,

Max and Ella
