Clown chat
Wednesday, July 1st, 2009Hello Pandas,
Max is still sliding away at the lake, but I took the opportunity earlier today to interview the clown at the lake who so kindly proffers us with swimming tires for the water slide.
Mr. Clown, how did you end up at the Lost Lake in the first place? Couldn’t find your way home? An affinity for Woobys?
Well, my dear, first off, Mr. Clown is not the name I was born with. That would be a ridiculous name. No, no, my real name is Mr. Curly. My family has had curly hair for centuries and we are well-known throughout the world as a curly-haired clan. I came to Panfu because I like to see Pandas smile and make them laugh.
And what did you do before you came to Panfu?
Before I came to Panfu I worked for a travelling circus. A Russian one, to be exact. Those are the best, you know. Except I hear the Chinese put on quite a show. Anyway, as you might have guessed, I worked as a clown. You see, Ella, I was born with red hair and a matching nose. I was often made fun of as a young Panda, but then I realized that making people laugh was what I did best. Yes, I know they were laughing at my expense, but I wanted so badly for others just to be happy. It’s nice to see others laugh, isn’t it?
Well, sure it is! But why did you leave the circus?
One dark and stormy day, the circus decided to buy a Spanish bull to do stunts for the crowd. Unfortunately, the bull tended to go stark-raving mad every time he saw the color red, which happens to be the color of both my hair and nose, and sometimes my skin when I’ve been out in the sun too long. The bull tormented me and I was always scared. I refused to go through the humiliating act of dying my hair some other color, so I left the circus. But here I am! And I like it here, too!
Stay all you like! And thanks for the interview. We’ll see each other at the water slide!
I’ll be there!
Be good Pandas,
Ella
