Dear Pandas,

First off, Happy Independence Day to all American Pandas! Eat some hotdogs, watch some fireworks and go enjoy the holiday with your friends and family.

Right, go have fun today! We spent the day riding horses around, but decided to stop off at the library to pay a visit to Penny. As we expected, she was sitting there reading a magazine about surfboards.

I told her I wanted to share a few strongly-worded phrases with the guy who broke her heart.

Then Penny explained: “That wouldn’t be too easy. Lenny doesn’t live here in Panfu and I haven’t seen him in a long time. I don’t even know if I’d recognize him. We were best of friends in Palifornia and spent the days building sand castles on the beach. That is, until I moved to Panfu.” Then Penny took out a photo and showed it to us:

Pretty cute, eh? Penny went on: “I thought that one day maybe he could come to Panfu too. It would have been totally rad. I wrote him an awesome letter every day, but I never received a response. I got word recently that he’s now a big surfing champion and all the girls are throwing themselves at his feet. He probably has a new girlfriend every week and doesn’t even remember who I am.”

The poor girl. I wish we could help her…

Wait a sec, Ella – isn’t there going to be a surfing championship tournament next week at Panfu?

As a matter of fact, there is!

Hey, maybe Lenny will show up there. A surf champ like that wouldn’t miss the chance to participate in the great Panfu surf championship. Perhaps there’s still hope that we can get those two back together…
