Kamaria and the Prof. sit down for tea
Wednesday, October 7th, 2009Hello Panda dears!
Have you already found the new curly-headed Panda at Panfu? No, I’m not talking about Mr. Curly. I met him yesterday while gathering palm leaves. He is a very nice, put-together young man by the name of James Peabody. I think his “bros” call him Jay Pea. He has some lovely-looking sunglasses for sale on the beach.
But now for some splendid news: Prof. bookworm was lovely enough to swing by the tower for a cup of tea. He appeared to be so excited or nervous that he almost dropped my brand-new porcelain tea service, so I sat him down for an interview:
Oh my dear earth-child, the skies over Panfu will be getting dark soon. I went to the top of the volcano last night to check the positions of the stars and planets. On Friday, if my calculations are correct, there will be complete darkness on Panfu…
Oh! Stars and planets! I know a lot about that from my card readings! You see, first I shuffle the deck –
Enough about that! That has no relevance to my work! Such a thing only happens every 370 years. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
Oh…ok. Well then. What is the name of the planet which will cause this total eclipse?
Chiconahuiehecatl.
Sounds familiar…
I think anything would sound familiar to that potion-addled mind of yours, my dear Kamaria. But in this case you are right – our two alien friends Nui and Trawui come from this planet. Maybe we’ll be able to have some kind of connection to them on this day…They’ll be able to see Panfu quite perfectly from their own planet. I really must go now. Important work awaits!
Thank you, Professor. There you have it, Pandas. On Friday expect an eclipse. Don’t forget to get some sunglasses so you can see it properly. Go speak to that lad on the beach.
Oh yes, one more thing. Friday also happens to be Level Day and Gold Panda Day! That means everyone can buy clothes, decorate tree houses, ride horses, cars, and a lot more!
Peace out,
Kamaria
