Hello pandas!
Have you ever wondered what that big area of blue water is on the Panfu map?
The huge lake, which is a turquoise blue in the middle of the unexplored depths of the jungle, is a cause of great mystery. No panda has been there yet. Well, we did our own research on the mystery lake in the library after we finished our homework.
It is not totally true that nobody has ever seen the lake (otherwise it would not be drawn on the map!) We found a book in the library whose title is “The dark side of Panfu or how I discovered the great lake” written by a scientist named Hugo Häaberlein Stanley (nephew of a famous explorer of Africa)
I always wanted to be an explorer to discover unknown places and animals! We read the whole book and then I prepared everything that an explorer needs: a compass, a document bag, a thermos bottle filled with lemonade tea!
Not so fast Max, we must first tell our readers what we found in the book!
Oh yeah, that’s right! (Blush)
Many, many years ago the explorer called Hugo Häaberlein Stanley, set off to explore the jungle. All his friends told him that the jungle is a dangerous place and there was nothing interesting there.
Hugo said, “I will discover something that nobody has ever seen!” With that, he set off with his explorer hat, pruning shears to cut the long jungle vines and a box of candy, in case he got hungry on the way.
After 3 weeks, 6 days and about 14 hours of exploration, he not only had 134 mosquito bites and 46 blisters on his paws but he had discovered a huge and beautiful lake on which the sun shone glitters of light!
He took his first bath in 3 weeks, 6 days and about 18 hours in the crystal clear waters of the lake. (A fish apparently bit his toe too!) Then he settled down to sun bathe and dry off his fur in the warm sun.
He then returned to the civilization of Panfu city and told the other pandas about his discovery. Foolishly, Hugo had not drawn a map of the lake so it was very difficult to find it again so no one was very interested in his discovery. It’s also the reason why the lake is not names after Hugo Häberlein Stanley.
Perhaps you have some name suggestions for the lake?
Write them here as a comment in this Blog entry.
Until next time,
